What is The Flying Book Club?
The Flying Book Club is a literary group based in Dublin designed to share the riches of Irish and International writing with visitors, students and all book-lovers.
We bring people together to explore a wide range of writing, past and present, through our exciting literary and cultural programmes.
Now designated a UNESCO City of Literature, Dublin is also one of the friendliest cities in Europe. Its alive with heritage attractions, cultural events and much more. The Flying Book Club will open this world for you.

Programmes
Ireland's Four Nobel Laureates
The highest literary award, The Nobel Prize for Literature has been awarded to four of Ireland’s writers in the last century; William Butler Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett and most recently, Seamus Heaney.This is a disproportionate number given Ireland’s relatively small population.
The Author Based Programmes
This programme offers you the chance to really explore the writing of one author, usually through taking two texts from their publications, some of which we hope you will have already read.Unlike our other programmes this one is designed to offer a more in-depth acquaintance with a writer, his or her work and their relationship with the city of Dublin.
Three Day Bespoke Programme for Your Book Club
Do you and your friends (inside or outside of a formal book club setting) have an Irish author for whom you have a great passion? Have you perhaps planned to read an Irish writer’s work with your book club sometime soon? Why not break out of the normal routine of meeting locally and come to Dublin to a bespoke programme for you.
One Day Programmes for Groups & Book Clubs
